Karen Hseuh
Executive Director
Karen Hsueh brings more than a decade of leadership, institutional knowledge, and deep commitment to Land Together’s mission in her role as Executive Director. She first joined Land Together as a volunteer in 2015 and has since held a range of programmatic and operational leadership roles, including Program Facilitator, Administrative Manager, Chief of Staff, Deputy Director, and Interim Executive Director, before being appointed Executive Director in 2026.
Karen has a deep understanding of Land Together’s programs and works closely with staff, board members, program participants, and community partners to advance the organization’s mission. Her leadership is grounded in collaboration, care, and accountability, with a strong focus on mentoring staff, strengthening internal systems, and fostering a healthy organizational culture. She has also played an important role in strengthening Land Together’s financial sustainability and positioning the organization for long-term impact.
Beyond Land Together, Karen has provided operations, strategic planning, and fundraising capacity-building support to multiple California-based criminal justice reform organizations. In 2016, she helped found Transformative Programming Works, a statewide coalition of community-based organizations offering healing programs in California prisons.
Karen’s work is dedicated to fostering inclusive community-building, promoting healing, and empowering those most impacted by incarceration and systems of oppression. She holds a Master’s Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems from Tufts University and a BA in Political Science from Marist College.
