An LT program graduate published a book!

One of Land Together’s prison garden program graduates, Solomon Ruiz, published a book - “Value, Connection, and Empathy” - that is now available for purchase!

In Solomon’s words, “I created a workbook about understanding that every person on this planet has a place in this world. Each person has inherent value. Awareness of the worth of each person inspires treating people with compassion. Regardless of difference, people always deserve to be treated as worthy. Rather than creating divisions, we focus on the similarities of humanity.”

Solomon is currently incarcerated, but we are hopeful that he will be paroled in the near future, especially given his long and inspiring history of service. Among other generous acts of service, Solomon has organized fundraisers for Land Together and other nonprofits and causes that are close to his heart. Solomon and his wife Melissa are also powerful advocates for the rights and needs of incarcerated people. We are so proud of Solomon for this milestone accomplishment, and for living a life so fully aligned with Land Together’s core values of connection and empathy.
