Reentry Excursion to Toluma Farms and Dillon Beach

This past weekend, Land Together’s reentry program brought together 26 people, including graduates of our programs in five different California prisons, for an educational, community building, and healing excursion to Toluma Farms and Dillon Beach in Petaluma/Tomales. Upon arriving at the farm, we were honored with a land blessing from Marty, the Native Advisor at Mule Creek State Prison, setting the tone for a deeply connected and meaningful day. We played with baby goats, helped out in the garden, and shared a good lunch, all while soaking in the fresh air and sunshine. One exciting moment of the trip came at Dillon Beach where one of our program participants, who had just paroled that very day, reunited for the first time with his good friend from inside, embracing in a heartfelt hug. The day was a beautiful reminder of the healing power of nature, community, and reconnection—a true celebration of new beginnings and shared journeys. See below for some photos and video interviews from the outing.

A special thank you to The California Coast Explore the Coast grants for making these magical coastal outings happen! Everyone is excited for the next adventure!
