Sol Mercado is a social justice advocate and community organizer who believes in the power of nature to heal. She's passionate about giving back to her community and creating second chances for people who've been incarcerated.

Sol is a Land Together alumna. She spent 16 years incarcerated at Central California Women's Facility. While inside, she helped build healing gardens that became living memorials to victims of crime and spaces of reflection and growth for incarcerated people. Through this work, Sol showed others what it means to restore both land and self.

Outside of work, Sol spends her time with her daughter, out in nature, and tending to her plants.
