Announcing Karen Hsueh as Land Together’s Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Land Together is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Hsueh as Executive Director, effective January 15, 2026. Karen has served as Interim Executive Director since July 2025, following her promotion from Deputy Director.
During her six-month tenure as Interim Executive Director, Karen provided steady, effective leadership during a period of transition. Her deep understanding of Land Together’s mission and programs, along with strong relationships with staff, board members, program participants, and community partners, ensured continuity and allowed the organization to continue advancing key strategic initiatives without disruption. After a thorough evaluation of her performance and qualifications, the Board unanimously determined that Karen is the right leader to guide Land Together into the future.
Karen has been part of Land Together for more than a decade, beginning as a volunteer and later serving in program and operations roles before becoming Deputy Director and Interim Executive Director. Throughout her leadership, she has demonstrated strategic insight and a strong commitment to supporting staff and fostering a healthy organizational culture. She leads with a collaborative, grounded approach, mentoring team members, strengthening internal systems, reinforcing accountability, and advancing shared leadership. Over the past six months, Karen has also played an important role in strengthening the organization’s financial sustainability, helping position Land Together for long-term stability and impact.
The Board’s decision reflects the strong confidence and respect Karen has earned through her leadership and long-term contributions, and our recognition that promoting from within preserves institutional knowledge and allows the organization to build momentum. Karen is well positioned to lead Land Together forward with clarity, care, and purpose.
